“In the business world, the rear view mirror is always clearer than the windshield”
– Warren Buffet
The Financial crisis of 2007-08 has an element of paradox in it. On one side it has been unprecedented in scale, scope and volume evolving thereby into a generalized systemic crisis of finance and the economy. On the other side, the very reason for the crisis was extremely simple in its origin. This turmoil has raised serious doubts about every accepted aspect of finance and economics. The business community has witnessed major upheavals in the financial world post 2008. Organizations are gearing up to insulate themselves against unexpected uncertainties and the way of doing business has changed phenomenally by bringing new unheard dynamics into the whole paradigm.
Has the turmoil changed the state of Finance ? How will the Indian Financial markets react to the crisis in the world as time passes by?
To discuss this and other topics such as emerging trends in banking, financial services, investments and corporate governance, Institute of Management, Nirma University organized Arthoday 2013 on the theme “Changing Paradigms in the World of Finance“ on December 14, 2013.
