Club Fiesta, the music and dance club of IMNU, organized its flagship event Carnival 2019 from 25th February to 1st March.
The first day of Carnival 2019 was “Jam Session 4.0”, which was a fun night where students gathered to have an informal music session. Students danced with their friends, leaving behind the worries of the never-ending assignments and much dreaded quizzes and tests, while also performing in the open mic session and getting a chance to perform with the instrument of their choice.
The second and third day of Carnival witnessed the workshop “InSync with Sonali”. Sonali Bhadauria is a YouTube sensation with over 1.6 million subscribers. She is known for her unique choreography on popular Bollywood songs, and has also performed in the YouTube fanfest held in Mumbai 2018.
On the 28th, Club Fiesta hosted, “The Big Band Theory” – a performance by the rock band SPUNK!. Slated as one of the best live rock acts in the country, SPUNK! has over 1 million hits on YouTube. SPUNK! has over performed at over 600 events across the country, and is known for its high octave live set and infectious energy on stage. With a highly energetic performance, the night was a very memorable one for the students of IMNU.
On the 1st of March, Club Fiesta organized “Rhythm”, an intersectional dance and singing competition that gave the students an opportunity to showcase their talent while representing their section. Shriya Kamat (Dreadnaughts) and Yash Savlani (Falcons) won the 1st and 2nd prizes for music solo. Chetansi Goswami (Falcons) and Simran Gupta (Celestials) won the 1st and 2nd prizes for dance solo. Dancing Divas (Blackhawks) and Party Rockers (Bravehearts) won the 1st and 2nd prizes for dance groups. Overall, Falcons won the award of the best performing section.
