Club Sumantra, the Literary Club of the Institute of Management, Nirma University, organized “Sherlocked- A Book Review Event” in association with the library of IMNU, on the 30th of October, 2018.

Students gathered in the IMNU Library and discussed the books and underpinnings of the well-famed Sherlock Holmes. From the talks of how the books slowly unravelled the mysteries of Sherlock Holmes, to his bond with Dr. Watson, the conversations were quite enriching in how they approached these pieces of literature.

Students also discussed the writing styles of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, comparing it with the writing styles and literary pieces of other famous writers like Agatha Christie. During a discussion, a student also pointed out how Sherlock Holmes’ life was familiar to the life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle himself. Moreover, he also highlighted how Sir Doyle’s medical background helped him in writing detailed stories with the peculiar nuances that are known all too well to the readers of this genre.
