Club Sumantra-The literary club of IMNU organised their Second event of this session – Mantavya – on 26th October, 2018. The event was all about expressing yourself above all extremes, To agree or to disagree on a topic and speak-up about what you actually feel. Participants in teams of 2 showed up for the event. The first round of the event had two parts. First, each team was given a long word and they have to spontaneously make as many small words as possible from it. Next, the teams used their creativity to give meaning to the idioms and phrases. Best performing eight teams were qualified to the second round.
In the second round, “Block and Tackle”, teams got the chance to take their stand and speak ‘For and against’ the topic. Each team was given 30 seconds to think and prepare their points. One of the speaker spoke for the motion and the other was a moderator who was asked to switch thrice. All the teams exhibited great oratorical skills. Interestingly, this round was not an elimination round so teams spoke without any fear.
Finally, in the third round, “Alone”, teams prepared a short film and uploaded it on Youtube. The competition gave participants room to express their emotions creatively.
