“Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them”.- ELLIOTT ERWITT.
Pratikriti – The Photography Club of IMNU organized Shutterbug – An event where all the Lens-savvy people of IMNU took a step up and displayed their talent behind the lens.
The event was a Photography competition that consisted of two rounds.
A pre-event was organized where the participants were asked to upload photographs on the theme “Life at Hostel” on the Facebook Group of the batch.
The first round was a theme based photography round in which participants had to click one picture on each theme, within the boundaries of Nirma University. The themes were “Lights” and “Friendship”. The participants showcased their talent with the camera and what was more important was the different perspectives people brought in the form of the their photographs. Each photograph had a deep rooted message, be it ‘the dancing lights’ or ‘the warmth of friendship’ portrayed in the pictures.
The second round was object photography round where participants were given interesting objects like toy animals, toy cars, lipstick, perfume bottles and books, to name a few. The participants brought the following words to life “You don’t take a photograph, you make it”. The trick was to make simple objects look picturesque with the power of the lens and an eye to create a picture.
Abhishek Gupta (Winner) and Kriti Rathi (Runner up) emerged as the top two performers. Some other photographs made it to the bulletin board displayed by Pratikriti in the SAC area.
