To make the students feel at home and not miss the festivities on this auspicious day , The Cultural Committee of Institute of Management, Nirma University organized Lohri celebrations with full pomp and enthusiasm during the evening of 13th of January, 2018.
A bonfire was setup near the parking area with bricks encircling it. The mood of the day was set in high festive spirits as everyone came dressed in traditional attire to commemorate the occasion. It started with the students setting the fire ablaze and paying homage to the Sun God (symbolized by the bonfire) by tossing popcorn into the bonfire.
Music system was put in place to make everyone groove to the bhangra beats and upscale the energy in the air. A Disc Jockey and a professional guitarist made the Lohri merriment touch a whole new level. The DJ played the latest peppy numbers along with the punjabi songs to which everyone twirled and whirled.
With IMNU accommodating students belonging to various regions and religions, many experienced Lohri for the first time. As the merry-making came to an end, the students felt that they were a part of a large North Indian family as the organizers left no stone unturned in making the festival a memory to cherish for everyone.
