The performance was carried out by young boys from Konark Natya Mandap dressed as girls in praise of Lord Jagannath and Krishna. The dance of the young boys was accompanied with tabla, flute and traditional musical instruments as well as Sanskrit vocals. With their mudras, highly flexible acrobatics and poised grace, these budding artists managed to mesmerize audiences. Power packed back flips, somersaults and elaborate formations depicting scenes from the life of Krishna secured them a fervent standing ovation.
The event was held to recognize and appreciate an otherwise faintly known art form.
