SYNERGISM – Discover the team-player in you…

Whether working in various clubs and committees, or in various groups for different assignments and projects, life at IMNU is all about working in teams. Even after MBA, the corporate life is about leading and managing teams. Keeping this in the background, Imprintz – The HR Club at IMNU organized its first event of the current academic year on 07th October, 2013. The event was called ‘Synergism’ which means ‘two or more agents working together to produce a result not obtainable by any of the agents independently’. The event challenged participants to come out of their comfort zone and explore the team-player inside them.

Despite this being a team event, individual registrations were sought. On the eventful day, participants from different batches were clubbed into different teams to test their team-player skills. There were a total of 4 teams of 8 members each. The first task was to form a chain and move along a crooked path made of squares.  The task was made challenging as the legs of the team-members were tied to each other and if any team moved outside the square boxes, they had to start all over again. The two teams that reached the destination first were to move to the second round.

In the second round, the two teams of 8 members were broken up into 4 teams of 4 members each. This time, the team had to nominate one person from the team for a task. The task was to collect as many chocolates as possible within the maze. The nominated person would be blindfolded and the other team-members had to give directions to reach the targets. The twist in the game was ‘left’ was to be aid as ‘right’, ‘forward’ to be said as ‘backward’ and vice-versa.

The winning team managed to take in 4 chocolates. For the second team, 3 teams were tied on one point. So, a tiebreaker in the form of a short HR quiz was held. The prizes were given away by Dr.Sameer Pingle – Faculty Co-ordinator for Imprintz. All in all, the event had many a moment of frustration and excitement especially in the second round.
