On 07th September, 2013, the fourth Institute Lecture for the academic year 2013-14 was delivered by Mr Praveen Bhadada, Director, Zinnov Management Consulting.

Mr Praveen BhadadaThe focus of his presentation was “Digital transformation affecting our lives”. He sought to underline the close relationship between technology and our lives contrasting the present life with life 10 years ago. In a technologically advanced world, companies that were leaders yesterday are suddenly facing the threat of a rapidly changing digital world. Due to this change, while some companies like Blackberry and Kodak are on the verge of being sold or have filed for bankruptcy, other companies like Microsoft and Google have re-invented themselves and their services. Iconic yesteryear inventions like desktops and notebook PCs are now being replaced by tablets and smartphones.

Mr Praveen Bhadada - Director, Zinnova Management ConsultantsMr Bhadada gave special emphasis on how digital technology has literally changed the way we live our lives. No aspect has remained unaffected from the onslaught of these changes. Even politicians have not been left behind, whether it is Mr Barack Obama, President – United States or Mr Narendra Modi, Chief Minister, Gujarat. Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp have changed the very fundamentals of inter-personal communication. Other sectors like healthcare, IT-ITES and Manufacturing are also being transformed through new frontiers such as telemedicine, 3D printing, Cloud Computing. He cautioned against ignoring this trend, whether it is a company or an individual.

Aside from the topic, he asked students to be clear about their goals in their life and spoke on the importance of reading to remain updated with the changes occurring in the fast-paced globalized world.
