IMNU Lecture Series

In an effort to keep up with the industry, B-schools invite experienced professionals to partake in their knowledge so that their students may get a better understanding of how it is in the “Real World”. To achieve the same objective, IMNU invited Sorabh Bali, HR Manager, Manpower Group, on January 20, 2012, to give a lecture on “Recruitment Strategies of Companies for Freshers” and interact with the 1st Year MBA (FT) Students to provide inputs on how to choose the right  specialization/elective that matches their potential, skills and interest. Mr. Bali gave a gist of the employment scenario in India citing that of all the management graduates that Indian B-schools churn out every year, only 8-10% are employable. Similar is the situation in other academic streams. He also pointed out the gap that exists between industry and academia and stressed on the importance of right training and development methodology. “There is a lot of difference between a job and a career”, he remarked and urged the students to draw a career tree before zeroing in on their field of specialization.

Another insightful session in the series of lectures organized as a part of IMNU Lecture Series, it was a successful initiative, as was clearly visible from the level of student participation.
